Needs Analysis Assessment
Hall Chadwick, Chartered accountants and business advisors, have completed a needs analysis assessment for DYFHPA with the assistance from Cairns City Council. They discovered (a) a hydrotherapy pool is a necessary addition required for the Cairns Community based on the benefits hydrotherapy presents to patients and (b) although some pools have attempted to provide hydrotherapy facilities, there is in fact no such facility in Cairns which meet the standards required to be considered a dedicated hydrotherapy pool.
Interest Groups
In addition, the Hall Chadwick Needs Analysis determined the following groups would make use of the facility:
- Physiotherapists in private practice
- Doctors
- District Health Services:
- Cairns and District Health Services - Cairns Base Hospital where no hydrotherapy pool facility exists
- Gordonvale Hospital
- Education QLD – special needs children
- Dept. Families, Youth and Community Care
- Community Health Centres eg. Domiciliary Blue Nursing
- Associations and User Groups eg. Sporting Wheelies, Disabled Sport and Recreation Association
- Others including Workcover and Retirement Villages
